About the studio

A small studio with a long view.

Palladium Studios was founded on the belief that most consumer software fails its users by competing for their attention instead of serving it. We are building a small, focused studio for AI products that resist that pattern.

Mission

Build AI software that earns its place in someone's day.

We make AI applications for the moments when software should help a person think more clearly, feel more steady, and spend their attention on what matters. Wellbeing and productivity are our two starting points because both are heavily underserved by the current generation of tools, and both reward careful engineering and design more than louder marketing.

Our promise is simple. Every product we release should be measurably better at its single job than the alternatives, and the person using it should feel that improvement in their day.

Vision

A generation of AI tools measured by how well they serve us.

We want to be part of a quieter, more honest version of consumer AI. One where the success of a product is not measured by minutes of attention extracted, but by the meaningful work it enabled and the calm it returned to its users.

Five years from now, our hope is that the best AI apps people use are the ones they barely notice using. Tools that do their job, get out of the way, and leave the person better off than they found them.

Approach

Small team. Few products. Long horizons.

We are a small team of designers and engineers based in the United Kingdom. We work on a handful of products at a time, with the same people responsible for research, design, engineering, and the long tail of iteration that decides whether a product is actually good.

We do not chase trends. We pick categories we care about, study them seriously, and ship slowly. Our typical product cycle starts with months of research and prototyping before a single line of production code gets written.

Values

What we believe.

The principles below shape every product decision we make. They are not aspirational. They are the rules we hold ourselves to when nobody is watching.

01 Quiet by default

Notifications are a last resort, not a strategy. Our products should sit calmly on your home screen and earn each interaction on their own merit.

02 Privacy as a foundation

Data minimisation is the starting assumption, not an afterthought. We collect the smallest amount of personal data needed to do the job, and we are transparent about why.

03 Slow software

We ship fewer things and we ship them more carefully. Quality compounds. Most product problems we have seen were caused by haste, not ambition.

04 Genuinely useful

If a product does not change behaviour in a positive way, it should not exist. Every release is measured against that bar, internally and honestly.

05 Calm AI

Generative AI should feel like a quiet collaborator, not a slot machine. We use AI where it makes a product meaningfully better, and nowhere else.

06 Honest pricing

Our customers are not the product. We build software with clear, sustainable pricing models that do not depend on attention extraction or data resale.

Working on something we should know about?

Press, partnerships, and considered collaboration are all welcome.
